Forest bathing?! What – and why?! Forest bathing (shinrin-yoku) broadly means using all one’s senses to take in the forest atmosphere. Not simply a walk in the woods, it is the “conscious and contemplative practice of being immersed in the sights, sounds and smells of the forest”. No soap or towel needed – just an interest in experiencing the peace and wonder of a guided walking meditation that is deeply relaxing and energizing at the same time.
Our lead bather will be Margan Glover, who enjoys facilitating forest bathing walks for small groups. Our 1-1/2 mile walk over well-groomed paths will take place at CBEC (Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center) in Grasonville, and last about 1-1/2 hours. We’ll have an opportunity to sit in at least 2 locations along the way.
PLEASE REGISTER IN ADVANCE! The CBEC access road can sometimes flood, and we’ll try to reach registered participants if plans have to change.
